Response Paper
Industrial Revolution
QUESTION ONE
He argues that beer found its way into London’s industries, keeping the relationship between sanitization and industry, agriculture, and consumption still. In the age of poor sensitization, beer was the only safe beverage. Beer could be taken after each meal, be it breakfast, lunch, or supper. Most farmers in 1776 harvested barley for brewing compared to wheat for bread[1]. The revenue collected on beer increased drastically during that period. Beer brewing led to an increase in industrialization in British. Misa, therefore, thinks that beer should be recognized as an essential activity that led to industrialization like other products such as cotton.
QUESTION TWO
Misa, Engels, and Hughes all discuss the dangerous working conditions and high mortality rates of industrial workers in England. These conditions were significantly influenced by the industrial revolution present in England[2]. The worker’s wages and working conditions contributed to the high mortality rates. The poorly paid labourers lived in unpleasant and unhealthy environments. This, therefore, exposed them to several illnesses such as measles and typhoid. An example of this is in Liverpool and Manchester. The mortality rate was four times that of the surroundingstates. The mortality rates were, therefore, ten times more than the rest of the states.
QUESTION THREE
The most significant problem experienced in the current society is air pollution. It is caused by the emission of gasses from fossil fuel burning. EPA in the United States regulates more than 90 diverse toxins thatcan be traced to industrialization[3]. Industries are among the highest sources of pollution in the world today.
QUESTION FOUR
Citizens have come up with alternatives for fuelling their vehicles. They fuel their vehicles using electricity. This is an important step in curbing pollution issues through gas emission. The new design of fuelling vehicles needs an efficient battery. This new technology will not only help in curbing pollution issues but also help drivers in going for long kilometreswithout having to stop for fuelling.
