Summary 1

As stated by USU Libraries (2020), plagiarism is incorporating another author’s text without credit. However, while building research, plagiarism can be avoided through proper citation of foreign work. Other researches can be included through direct quotes, paraphrasing, or summarizing of text. Citations should be corresponding to individual bibliographies outlining who, what, when, and where the publication was made. All bibliographies should follow the norm for them to be completely accurate in APA format.

Although different sources have diverse bibliographies, the main crucial elements in an APA bibliography include the author’s second name, first name initial, year of publication, the source type, publisher, volume, and doi where necessary.According to Forlenza (2020), the type of in-text citation incorporated in APA format depends on the number of authors and whether the information to cite forms the entire or part of the sentence.Parenthetical citations can be placed at the end or within the sentence whereby the author and year of publication are enclosed. Multiple authors can be cited in one citation entry to illustrate similar information sourced from different researches.

NurseKillam (2020)discourages the extensive use of direct quotes in research. If quotes must be included in the research, they must be cited and page number included. However, researchers should incorporate the most current sources while conducting research. Research can be cited more than once with differentiation by incorporating an extra author in more than two authors or using symbols where only two authors are used. The APA format recommends the use of Times New Roman font style and 12 font size.

Regardless of the research discipline, research papers must incorporate a cover page, an introduction section, the body paragraphs, and a bibliography section. The title page indicates the author’s details, including the title of the research. As stated by The Nature of Writing (2019) in APA 7^th edition, the page number is situated at every page’s top right. Theparagraphs are aligned to the left with an intended margin of 0.5 to the right. The paragraphs include subheadings aligned to the left if more expansion of the main points is necessary. The reference section represents the bibliographic entries matching individual citations in the main body. They should be centered hanging indentation and arranged in alphabetical order.
